Ministries

Being the Hands and Feet of Jesus

Cleveland First Methodist Church offers a variety of ministries designed to help people grow in their faith and connect with others. Our Sunday School classes meet weekly, providing opportunities for Bible study, discussion, and fellowship for all ages. From young children to senior adults, we have classes tailored to meet people where they are in their spiritual journey.

Worship Ministry

Music and worship are central to how we express our love for God. Our Worship Ministry includes choir, praise team, instrumentalists, and media volunteers who lead our congregation in heartfelt worship each Sunday. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or simply love to sing, there’s a place for you to use your gifts.

“Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.” – Psalm 96:1

Youth & Children's Ministry

We believe that children and teenagers are a vital part of our church family. Our ministries provide safe, engaging environments where young people from birth through high school can learn about God’s love, ask hard questions, and grow in their faith. Through age-appropriate lessons, weekly gatherings, service projects, and retreats, we partner with parents to build a strong spiritual foundation and develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” – Matthew 19:14

Men's Ministry

Our Men’s Ministry challenges men to grow in their faith, lead with integrity, and support one another through accountability and fellowship. From Bible studies and prayer breakfasts to service projects and outdoor adventures, we create opportunities for men to connect authentically and become the leaders God has called them to be.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” – Proverbs 27:17

Women's Ministry

Our Women’s Ministry provides opportunities for women of all ages to grow spiritually, build meaningful friendships, and support one another. Through Bible studies, prayer groups, retreats, and fellowship events, women discover encouragement and community that impacts their families, workplaces, and communities in powerful ways.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” – Proverbs 31:25

Missions & Outreach

We believe faith without action is incomplete. Our Missions & Outreach Ministry coordinates local service opportunities and global mission efforts. Whether serving at food banks, supporting missionaries, or participating in mission trips, we provide practical ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community and beyond.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” – Matthew 28:19

Discover Your Place in Ministry

God has uniquely gifted you for a purpose, and there’s a place for you to serve right here at Cleveland First Methodist Church. Whether you’re passionate about working with children, love to serve behind the scenes, have a heart for missions, or simply want to welcome guests with a smile, your gifts matter. As 1 Peter 4:10 reminds us, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

Ministry isn’t just about filling positions—it’s about discovering the joy that comes from using your God-given talents to make a difference. When we serve together, something beautiful happens. Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages us to “spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together…but encouraging one another.” In serving alongside fellow believers, you’ll find genuine friendships, spiritual growth, and the satisfaction of being part of something greater than yourself.

The early church in Acts 2:42-47 thrived because everyone participated—sharing meals, praying together, and caring for one another’s needs. Their fellowship wasn’t a side activity; it was the heartbeat of their faith. We invite you to experience this same vibrant community. Don’t wait for the “perfect time” or think you need special qualifications. Come as you are, explore the opportunities available, and discover how serving others will enrich your own faith journey in ways you never imagined.

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” – Micah 6:8
